In a nutshell: A teenage girl and her boyfriend broke into the Ramat Gan safari near Tel Aviv early this morning and somehow climbed the fence into the elephant enclosure. One was dragged by an elephant's trunk, sustaining injuries to her pelvis, stomach and chest, while the other was unharmed.
Fortunately, the young girl will probably be okay, but this story is a reminder of just how powerful those mighty elephants can be. And as an alumna of Tufts University, a school often chided because its deceivingly goofy mascot is Jumbo the Elephant, I have just one thing to say:
Don't mess with the Jumbos!
